The Wae Rebo traditional village in the district of Manggarai on the island of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. In Wae Rebo you will be see the original traditional house of Manggarai. You might be familiar with the island if you know about the legendary Komodos, as Flores is the starting point to see the rare dragons in Komodo National Park. The Wae Rebo villagers are descendants of the Modo Tribe who defend the tradition and culture from generation to generation. They even won UNESCO recognition for the conservation of culture heritage in 2012.
Day 1: Arrival (Labuan Bajo) – Denge – Wae Rebo (L-D)
Our Staff / guide will pick you up at Komodo Airport (recommended you arrive at around 09:00 am) and then drive to Wae Rebo via Lembor and Denge. Lunch will be served in Lembor. Leaving your car in Denge village, you will be trekking about 3 – 4 hours to reach Waerebo. Dinner and overnight will be in one of the traditional houses.
Day 2 : Wae Rebo – Denge – Labuan Bajo (B-L-D)
After interacting with the villagers and having breakfast, you will be trekking back down to Denge village (taking about 2 – 3 hours) where the car is waiting to bring you back to Labuan Bajo. Lunch will be provided on the way. Overnight and dinner will be in a hotel in Labuan Bajo.
Day 3: Labuan Bajo – Batu Cermin – Komodo Airport – Bali (B)
After breakfast at the hotel (08.30 AM) you will visit Batu Cermin Cave to see some ancient fossils, stalagtite and stalagmites. Afterwards you will be taken to Komodo Airport to catch your flight to Denpasar Bali.
